Vietnam’s national carrier, Vietnam Airlines, will increase flight frequencies from London Heathrow to Vietnam to seven flights per week again this winter, with daily services set to resume from 29 October 2023. The Skytrax four star-rated airline will operate four flights per week to Hanoi and three per week to Ho Chi Minh City, all on next-gen Boeing B787-9 Dreamliners.
Vietnam Airlines launched the first ever direct flights linking the UK and Vietnam in December 2011. In 2015, the flag carrier switched its operations from London Gatwick to London Heathrow and rolled out its first B787-9 Dreamliner on the route, facilitating an increase in frequency that culminated in daily services commencing for the first time in June 2016. After a two-year suspension due to the pandemic, the connection was re-established in June 2022, with daily services first resuming for the winter 2022-2023 schedule.
Vietnam Airlines will initially increase the frequency of flights from London Heathrow from three to five flights per week from 1 July, before commencing daily operations from 29 October 2023.
